What is a digital product?

Benefits
- Low overheads
Without having to pay for space to physically store stock, digital products are low overhead
- High profit margins
With digital products as you usually only have to create once, but sell many times, the profit margins are typically higher than with physical stock.
- Completely automated
When a customer orders a digital product on your website, a secure link is provided to them on screen and by email so that they get their product immediately and there is no admin on your site in order to deliver the product.
How it works
Adding a digital product
- When adding a product via the website manager you'll notice a new tab called "Digital product".
- Next to "Is this a digital product?" select "Yes"
- An area will then appear below allowing you to upload the file(s) for the digital product

How files are delivered to the customer
- Once an order is placed, links to the files for any digital products in the order are displayed on screen
- Links to download the files are also included in the email order confirmation sent to the customer
- Customers can also login to your customer account area on the website and view their order history to view the links to download the files

- If selling copyrighted material, you must make sure you have permission to sell digital versions of it online
